The Child Nutrition Program is now accepting lunch payments on-line. With our new system, we hope to make paying for lunch more convenient.  Never again write a check, send cash in envelopes, or worry if your child or children have enough money in their account.  We've made paying for multiple students more convenient.  Check with your school or with the Child Nutrition Office to learn if this option is available for your school

Child Nutrition will continue to accept payments by cash or check in your child's school cafeteria.

When is my student's account updated?

bulletAccounts are verified - Monday through Thursday after 6:00 p.m..
bulletMoney is posted to student accounts - Monday through Thursday after 7:00 p.m..
bulletTransactions completed after 1:00 p.m. on Friday will not be posted until after 7:00 a.m. on Monday.
bulletPayments will not post on weekends, Holidays or anytime school is not in session.
bulletMeal Histories are posted after 9:00 p.m. daily. 

 

Transaction Fees
Effective July 1, 2007, our vendor will institute the following services and transaction fees

For a Premium Account:

bulletA premium account allows you access to view your child's meal history and make payments to their account.
bulletService Fee - Annual Parent Registration Fee of $10.00 (valid for one year). 
bulletTransaction Fee - 3% of on-line payment to student account.
$25.00 payment = $ 0.75 fee
$100.00 payment = $ 3.00 fee

For a Standard Account:

bulletA standard account ONLY allows you to make payments to your child's account.
bulletTransaction Fee - 3% of on-line payment to student account.
$25.00 payment = $ 0.75 fee
$100.00 payment = $ 3.00 fee
      

New Services

bullet Email notification when money has been posted to student account.
Email notification when student account reaches a low balance level designated by you.
Telephone support Monday - Friday between 8:00 a.m. & 5:00 p.m. at (828) 728-8407.

 

Caldwell County Schools do not receive any portion of these fees.

Who do I contact when I have a problem?

bulletOn Line transactions:  When you have a problem with your LunchPrepay account, contact our third party vendor. (Education Management Systems).
Examples of problems are:
(1) unable to locate your child's account
(2) account balance is incorrect, because money has been placed on your child's account and it hasn't posted after the 24 hour time frame.
bulletThe third party vendor (Education Management Systems) can assist you with issues directly related to transactions performed on the prepay web site.  You may contact them by clicking the "Contact Us" button on the LunchPrepay web site.
bulletCash or Checks:  Contact your child's cafeteria manager should you have a question regarding a purchase made to your child's account. 
bulletPurchases:  Contact your child's cafeteria manager should you have a question regarding a purchase charged to your child's account.

 

What happens to Account Balances?

bulletIf your child changes schools within Caldwell County, your child's money will follow him to the next school.  School cafeteria managers handle student account transfers.
bulletIf you are using the LunchPrepay system, and your child is changing schools within Caldwell County, you will need to edit the student information on your parent account for LunchPrepay.  The student will be re-verified to their new site.  The system will automatically transfer funds to the new school. 
bulletIf your child is moving out of the Caldwell County district and you wish to receive your child's account balance, please do the following:
                -send a note to the cafeteria manager that your child will no longer be attending school in                Caldwell County and that you would like his balance refunded to you.
                - list your correct mailing address.
                - list your social security number. 
bulletThe cafeteria manager will send the request to the Education Center where the request will be processed.  A check for the balance will be printed and sent to you in the mail.
bulletIf your child's account has a debt, you will need to remit payment for any charges prior to the student's departure from Caldwell County.
bulletIf your child is being promoted from the elementary to middle or middle to high, school positive and negative balances will follow your child.  However, if you request that your child's positive balance be returned, you will need to send a written request to the school cafeteria manager prior to the last day of school.  If you do not notify the school before the summer break, you may contact the Child Nutrition office anytime during the summer and request a refund.  You will need to provide: your student's name, last school of attendance, your full name, social security number, and a current address.
bulletIf your child remains at the same school from year to year, the  account balance will also remain..  However, a negative balances must be paid in full by the end of the school year.
